Disclosures for Medical Trauma Questionnaire (MTQ)

Disclosures for MTQ and Other Clinical Practice Research

Attune & Embody Psychotherapy may conduct clinical practice-based research aimed at identifying best practices for screening current and future clients under the care of Attune & Embody Psychotherapy. This means we expect current clients to benefit from participating in this research by gaining better diagnostic or causal information to aid in their personal treatment for medically-related trauma.

The results of this questionnaire and the other measures you received as part of this research will be stored within your client chart, and will be accessible via your client portal account.

As a potential secondary impact, we expect there to be positive benefits offered by this clinical practice-based research to other behavioral health practitioners and to their patients. For example:

  • Karalyn Violeta is scheduled to present on this topic of Medical Trauma at the American Board of Clinical Social Work conference in April 2024, and at another LGBTQ+ specific conference in fall of 2024

  • Over the next 6 months,Karalyn will also be teaching continuing education workshops for social workers and presenting some of the general findings to behavioral health consulting groups to educate other providers about treatment for LGBTQ+ survivors of medical trauma

  • Any aggregated data from this questionnaire may also contribute to one or more interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal articles or other published work, to help educate the larger professional community
